trick or treat

our cute sock monkey had fun trick or treating....she could care less about the candy...she just enjoyed knocking on the door saying "trick or treat" "thank you" and off to the next house...hard to believe she's been with us over year and this is her 2nd year trick or treating....last year she had no clue what halloween was all about.... this year she knew all about halloween!

could she be any cuter

the perfect weather day for andrea sisler
a crisp breeze
not a cloud in the sky
sunshine rays all around and not 1 bead of sweat rolling down my face...gotta love that
laying in the grass and watching the bugs jump all around us
watching our cats & dogs run and romp
playing with my sweet angel emma lael (could she be any cuter...i don't think so ;0)
watching emma lael draw with chalk...she can write her first name and boy is she proud of herself
sitting quietly watching natalie lay on the grass with our neighbors eating a popsicle
hearing all the sounds that the world seems to bring but when were busy we don't hear them all...crickets...dogs barking....lawn mowers....the smell of fires being burnt

emma lael while at new day had a love for a certain scooter....this week while shopping we found the scooters just like the one's at new day....she picked out a pink one...she's had more fun riding it all this week....

i asked her to stick out her tongue for a picture she said "mama, that's not nice" i told her we were just being "silly" and it was okay for a few pictures...she's my rule follower ;-)

i hope each of you who read this post enjoyed your day....we sure did

Happy HOME Day

One year ago today we landed on good ole american soil after spending weeks in beautiful china, our daughter emma lael's home land.... we were home....emma lael was HOME.... HOME a place she call HOME from this day forward....i remembered our first night home emma lael and i slept in her room... i tucked her in her crib she feel fast asleep in HER room.....a room prepared especially for her....she woke up at 5 a.m. and our first full day at HOME began....thank you God for an amazing 1st year with our precious girl....still on this day....1 year later i pinch myself making sure this isn't a dream....ADOPTION has been a life changer for the sisler family....i pray emma lael knows how very much we love her today, tomorrow and FOREVER.

P L O P it's gone

last november 2010 emma lael had a fall that caused her two front teeth to be damaged....today she accidentally knocked into the wand in the bathtub and P L O P out came her tooth... no bleeding or tears.... she didn't even know it had fallen out until i picked her up and said "oh my gosh, your tooth is gone" i picked her up let her look at herself in the mirror i asked "does it hurt" she said "no, mama"... it will a long time until her adult tooth comes in...in the meantime she'll be a cutie pie with one less front tooth.

Good report from ECHO

today was emma lael's 3rd cardiologist appointment since we've been home....no changes from her last two echo's YEAH...we learned today that she'll need 2 or 3 more open heart surgeries not 1 like we originally thought....the 3rd being when she's an adult....the 1st will depend on how long she can go before having symptoms of poor cardiac perfusion...it could be in 2 years or 10 years...they were able to get a good view of her pulmonary arteries today in previous echo's they couldn't get a good view of the pulmonary arteries...both her right and left pulmomary arteries are very narrow they will both be patched to enlarge them when she has the pulmonary valve replaced during her next surgery ....the pulmonary value will have to be replaced as she grows....the longer she can go without having it replaced now the better chance of having only 2 surgeries...her tiny frame is a benefit...valve's are replaced based on the growth of a child...if she is going to be 80 lbs as an adult and she has her pulmonary value replaced when she weighs 50 lbs most likley then she'll only need one more valve replacement.
she's been practicing writing her name and she wanted to practice while we waited for the echo to be done....pretty good, hah ;)

September 13, 2010

it is hard to believe that one year ago today we boarded a plane to china at 12:01 a.m. on September 13, 2010 to meet our daughter emma lael li sisler...it is surreal to think about it all....i can still feel the excitement fueled by adrenaline that rushed through my body that day...i remember what i wore on the plane...what i ate that day....the smell of Beijing when we got off the plan...the L O N G plane flight very clearly...what i remember more than anything is how much i loved a little girl i had never met before...some find it very strange that someone can LOVE someone they have never met...the photos i've posted clearly show what L O V E and a F A M I L Y can do for a child...Thank You God for allowing us to be emma lael li parents...still pinching myself and asking "how did i get so lucky to be her mom?"
